Innovative Rememberance Book Printing

Case Study | A Meeting of Words

'A Meeting of Words' is a book about books, a collaboration between art director/designer Tim Jetis, and printer Theo Pettaras from Digitalpress, Sydney.

It celebrates books and an exposition of words that have changed history and illuminating the heights and depths of the human spirit. The challenge was to employ expressive use of typography, illustration and print to create a book to powerfully share these works.

This project delves into the world of ideas as it highlights written passages from historical books and speeches that signalled cultural and political change. Touching on the notion that Design is transformative, and has a human dimension with a social obligation, 'A Meeting of Words'  examines the lineage of ideas and the way literature and political speeches have played their part to inform and shape society. It also paints Design and Art as a democratic force, inhabiting the centre of the human experience, and as a political, cultural and educating force - a catalyst for social change.

The launch was held at the Australian Design Centre, featuring an exhibit of the 28 unique Type posters and the limited edition book, digital assets were developed to accompany the project. You can purchase the limited edition prints here.
